YOUR PRIVATE TEACHER
Hello, my name is Julie. I am originally from Lyon and as a child, I spent time in the South of France almost every holiday since part of my family is from Uzès (a 40 minute ride from Avignon) and my grandparents still have a family house there.
I was born in The Philippines, have studied in Germany, lived in Brazil for 4 years, travelled in the US, Australia and Lebanon..
I always wanted to return to Provence, and now that I'm back, I enjoy every day of Avignon's deep blue sky and I love sharing the beauties of my home region with French learners.
During my free time, I like to play the piano (I've been playing since I'm a child at the Conservatoire in Lyon), go for a hike with my partner and my dog Acho, go for a bike ride around les Alpilles, garden a bit and cook. As it's important to me always to be a learner, I've also started a pottery wheel class recently.
I graduated from the prestigious Ecole Normale Supérieure (ENS) de Lyon in 2012 with a dual Master's degree in Sociology and German literature. I spent 3 years studying in Classe préparatoire with classes in French literature, Philosophy and History. It was only natural that I began teaching French while living in Brazil.
Certified to teach French as a foreign language, I have worked for Alliance Française in Belgium and Brazil, where I also started my own French-Brazilian language school.
I am a certified tester in official French exams (DELF, DALF and TCF), and have extensive experience in teaching French students at all levels.
I am fluent in English, German, Portuguese and I speak some Spanish.
After many world-wide travels and experiences, I am happy to settle my bags back in France and to relive la vie douce in Provence where I welcome French learners in my beautiful apartment in Avignon.
